About

SUMMARY

Operating independently as Outshine Web Design for the past 3 years, I have been working professionally in the Information Technology industry since 1997. I have experience in nearly every aspect of web development, with a specialization in Front-End Multimedia Development & Design.

PROCESS:

I service the entire life-cycle. I begin by clearly defining your needs and working with you to select the ideal combination of technologies to reach your goals. The technologies that I employ regularly are:

Design & Graphic Art
- Macromedia Flash 8 Professional
- Adobe Photoshop CS2
- Adobe Illustrator CS2
- Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0
- Adobe After Effects 7.0
- Swift3D
- FLV creation and deployment

Development
- Actionscript 2.0
- Javascript
- CSS
- XML
- Hand Coded HTML
- CGI Scripts
- PHP Scripts

After the initial planning and requirement gathering phase, your project begins development.

During development you have constant access to your project via a secure staging server. This is established to accommodate easy proofing of key modifications.

Each of my clients have immediate access to me during normal business hours, which allows for an expedited, hassle-free development process.

After development, your project undergoes a testing and quality assurance phase. Your project will be tested vigorously on both Macintosh and Windows platforms, as well as all major web browsing software such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Safari, etc.

Once your project has been approved for launch, it is deployed to your live web server. I offer continuing maintenance and support to keep you online and up-to-date.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss what I can do for you. Minus The Bear - Planet of Ice August 23, 2007
The new site I designed and developed for Seattle prog-rockers Minus The Bear's new album, Planet of Ice is live! The band wanted to heavily draw from the album's artwork, as well as integrate interesting visuals. Take a look!

In other news, I've been busy working on several new site designs and database-powered Flash projects. Check back in the coming weeks for more info on those!

Exerplay, Inc. Redesign July 11, 2007
I recently completed a redesign project for long-time clients Exerplay, Inc. The project involved implementing a new color scheme throughout the site, as well as various content and layout modifications. Visit Exerplay Website.

New Esparza Advertising Website Live! June 01, 2007
It's been a busy start to the summer season here at Outshine. I recently launched a new web site for Albuquerque advertising agency
Esparza Advertising. There's a number of interesting custom features integrated throughout the site, especially in the "Portfolio" section. Take a look! I'll also be integrating a custom content management system in the very near future.

I'm also currently working on a site redesign for Albuquerque playground vendor Exerplay, inc. More on that to come!

Search Engine Optimization April 03, 2007
A little SEO can go a long way. As I wrapped up The Piano Studio's website I researched keywords to target and implemented a few SEO techniques. As a result, The Piano Studio is now ranking very well on Google for multiple keywords, including #1 for "Piano Recording Seattle".

I have another website redesign project that I'm working on right now, which will also include SEO. More on that to come!

Cliff's Redesign Live March 19, 2007
The new Cliff's Amusement Park redesign is live! Check it out at www.Cliffs.net.

Cliff's Amusement Park Updates March 12, 2007
I've begun some pretty major updates to my childhood amusement park in Albuquerque, Cliff's Amusement Park.
While I did not initially design or develop this site, I have taken over maintenance in the last few months. I'm currently working with the fine folks over at Mckee Wallwork Cleveland to implement some nice looking redesigned elements. We're scheduled to launch live this Friday, so check back for more on that.

Eyeplay Homepage Redevelopment February 10, 2007
I've been working with Eyeplay once again to add some additional dynamic objects to their existing homepage.

I developed two new areas of the homepage, "Featured Projects" and "Latest News".

The "Featured Projects" area uses a custom Flash video player to showcase Eyeplay's latest work.

The "Latest News" area pulls the latest 4 articles from Eyeplay's "News" database, which I created in a previous project.

Both the "Featured Project" and "Latest News" areas are completely updateable by Eyeplay personnel through a web-based administrative interface, which I also developed in a previous project.

But a picture speaks a thousand word, so take a look!

Dynamic Flash News Section January 14, 2007
I developed a dynamic Flash solution for Seattle-based video production company Eyeplay, Inc. that recently went live.

Eyeplay contacted me to design, develop and implement a Flash-based News section that would be completely manageable from a web-based administrative interface. I designed, developed and implemented a Flash object that would fit within their current News section, and allow Eyeplay personnel to easily add, modify and remove news items.

See it in action!

The Piano Studio December 20, 2006
I recently designed and developed a Flash-based site for local recording studio, The Piano Studio. The folks at The Piano Studio have the ability to update all of the content, as well as the section colors, through a custom web-based administrative interface. The content and site settings are stored in a MySQL database, and passed through to the Flash site using PHP and XML.

Distinctive Branding Project November 13, 2006
The new logo I developed for Distinctive Homes & Remodel recently received the green light. They are based out of Tucson, AZ and wanted their logo to contain a strong Arizona desert aesthetic.

I will be continuing this branding project by developing Distinctive's business cards, brochures and website.

In other news, I've begun some very interesting database-driven Flash application development for Seattle-based video production company Eyeplay. Look for more on that in the next few weeks.
